Importance of Gyne Surgery in Fertility Treatment
Gynecological surgery plays a crucial role in fertility treatment for some individuals facing infertility. In certain cases, surgical intervention alone is enough to restore fertility, allowing conception without additional treatments. When surgery isn’t a standalone solution, it often serves as the first step in a broader fertility journey.
At Viva, our highly experienced gynecological surgeons approach to gynecological surgery prioritizes the preservation and restoration of reproductive organs, ensuring they function as nature intended—supporting conception and pregnancy after the procedure. Hysteroscopy is a medical procedure that allows doctors to examine the inside of the uterus using a thin, lighted tube called a hysteroscope. It can be used for both diagnostic and operative purposes.
- Diagnostic hysteroscopy helps identify causes of abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, recurrent implantation failure or recurrent miscarriages.
- Operative hysteroscopy is used to treat conditions like fibroids, polyps, intra-uterine adhesions, and other abnormalities inside the uterus.
The procedure is minimally invasive and no incision is required. The procedure is performed under mild sedation and recovery is usually quick, with minimal discomfort.
In some gynecologic conditions, laparoscopy or open surgery may be required. These conditions may include:
- Fibroids
- Hydrosalpinx
- Mullerian and vaginal anomalies
- Endometriosis
- Tubal Surgery
- Ovarian cyst
